She taught me to eat artichokes

"That's how it is with people sometimes. When you least expect it, a common thread -golden, at that- begins to weave together the fabric of friendship."
"She taught me to eat artichokes" by Kay Shanley is a keepsake book about friendship. The quote I used in the collage comes from that book. My collage was created for the challenge on "Mixed Media Monday". Lately I have been reconnecting with old friends, thanks to Facebook. It has been fun seeing what old friends are doing now and catching up. I would love to go back in time and find some more friends that I have lost touch with over the years. It amazes me how fast time flies as I get older. This year is my 20th reunion for high school (holy cow I feel old).

Here's to new friends and old -Cheers!

Wow! This is beautiful, absolutely fantastic. My best friend in cyberspace is Indybev who frequents the blogs and is a great digital artist. We have known each other online for ten years. We live a world apart. Like you, she is from Indiana and there are quite a few talented Indianians in the challenges - more, I would guess, than the population of your state would expect which makes you all a very talented bunch and, as far as I am concerned, wholly qualified as FRIENDLY people.
I'm afraid I do my art the easy way which digital and I am in awe of craftspersons who put so much hard work, creativity and artistry into their pictures. I love reading about their journeys from start to finish.
So glad I found your blog!!

Stacy, this is a wonderful collage. And what you said about friends is oh so true! I just wish it was only 20 years since I was in high school, LOL. Diane

Your collage is beautiful, but the journaling that accompanied it makes it truly special. I was widowed at a rather young age, and it is my circle of wonderful women friends who have enriched my life. (And yes, Ozstuff is the best friend I've never met!)

Absolutely gorgeous! I find this project so fascinating. The cover you've designed is so earthy and warm...just like the relationships that we nurture over the years.
